PaPa and Leo

PaPa loves Leo.

Ohmmmmmmm

Leo is contemplating the meaning of life.

Sorry, folks, for the delay in posting pictures. Leo, Daddy, and Mommy came to Texas last Saturday to visit Oma and PaPa, and Mommy forgot the camera cable back at home. So, she'll have to post the previous days' pictures when we get back to Jersey. In the meantime, Oma has kindly lent Mommy her digital camera and pictures should be posted daily now.

Leo has his first bagel and enjoys it! He's a Brooklyn baby at heart!

Welcome to Texas!

Today, Leo, Mommy, and Daddy flew to Texas to visit Oma and PaPa. Daddy has to be in Houston during the week for work, but will be in San Antonio during the weekends. Oma and PaPa are glad to see us!

Teething Toys

Forget about all his other toys. Leo likes chewing on Mommy's pants.

Rice Crispies

Today, Mommy introduced Leo to his first real "solid" food: Rice Crispies. He wasn't quite sure what to do with them. So, Mommy put one in his mouth. He ate it. So, she put another one in his mouth. He spat that one out. He had more fun smashing them with his fingers and throwing them on the floor. Time to bring out the hand vac.

Let Me Out

No, Leo isn't getting into the sitting position by himself. Mommy, sat him up in the crib this way. He seems to like it though. Maybe, I shouldn't be so quick to teach him how to escape the confines of his crib just yet...

Hide and Seek

Leo's new favorite spot is underneath the coffee table. He has no problem getting under there, but he does need help getting out. Silly boy...

Make Offer

Mommy and Daddy held a yard sale this weekend. Daddy had the idea of putting the "Make Offer" sticker on Leo's head. Everyone got a kick out of that and we made a whopping $64.25! (Not on Leo, but on the yard sale overall). Then we went out to lunch and spent our earnings. It was a good weekend.

Smells

"This kid smells funny." - Lego

We've started trying to teach Leo how to say "cat". He's gotten as far as "kkkkkkkk". And not always in reference to one of the cats.

Leo vs. The Table

He rolls and he rolls and then he gets to the coffee table and can't go any further. Leo's begun to hit the table. Perhaps, thinking it will move if he hits it long enough. Alas, the coffee table is not being cooperative.

What's Shakin'?

You gotta love this kid and his funny faces.

Happy Birthday, Auntie M (Melissa)!!

The Sleeping Lion

Sorry for the delay in posting... Google is taking forever to process video from this day. So, I'll have to post a picture instead. Leo is beginning to sleep on his side now. We always put him to sleep on his back, but we often find him sleeping like this when it's time to wake up. Babies don't read the SIDS handbook, do they?

A New Sippy Cup

We bought Leo a new sippy cup because he couldn't seem to get the hang of the old one. He likes this one much better and managed to drink some water. Though, a lot still ended up down his chin and chest. Live and learn....

Happy Mother's Day!

Today, Leo and Daddy took Mommy to a wine festival at Alba Vineyards (who knew New Jersey had vineyards!). We met some of the cousins there, listened to music, talked, walked, and tasted wine. Well, Leo tasted the wine bottle...not the wine itself.

Swimming Lesson II

Leo had another swim lesson today. In the lesson, the instructor has all the parents put the kids into the "boat" while we paddle into the deep end of the pool. See Leo in the corner sitting like a king?

Curls

Leo's curls are coming out. He's going to have quite the curly mop soon!

A Whole New (Under)World

Leo still hasn't been able to figure out how to crawl, but he has mastered the art of rolling. Leo rolls backwards and forwards to get to where he wants to go. Here he discovered the hidden wonders of being beneath the coffee table. Mommy had to be extra careful to extricate him from underneath the table so as not to bump his head. We've got one wily little kid!

Leo the Puppy

Here's Leo acting like a puppy. At first I thought he had something stuck in his throat. But no, he was panting / trying to talk. What a funny kid!

Let's Watch A Little Television

Leo loves the remote control. I guess any future guests will think twice before handling the remote after seeing this video.

Swimming Lesson

Mommy and Daddy took Leo to his first swim lesson today at the YMCA. Here he is being held by Daddy. Leo had a great time and didn't cry a bit. We're looking forward to next Saturday and another swim lesson. And Leo is looking forward to being the next Olympic swimmer!

Hanging Out With Mommy

This week, Leo and Mommy hung out because Daddy had to go to Houston on a business trip. Daddy has missed Leo terribly, but luckily, Daddy is coming home tonight. Here is Leo hanging out with Mommy. Please don't read into the fact that Leo is holding the toy flash card which shows how to say "pig" in three different languages. Although, on a relevant note, Mommy weighed Leo yesterday and he weighs a little over 16 1/2 pounds! We love our little "le cochon".

Sitting Up

Leo's able to sit up better than before (see http://leoblock.blogspot.com/2007/03/sitting-up.html). Granted, he still has a tendency to fall to the side after a few moments, but he's getting better and better.

Grandpa

Grandpa came and babysat (along with Aunt Helen and Aunt Faith) today. Grandpa fed Leo a whole bowl of mashed bananas and then a whole 7 ounces of formula! Leo's striving to be the next Buddha baby.

Click, Click, Bong, Bong

Mommy discovered that Leo likes it when people speak "click, click, bong, bong" to him.
