Learning To Crawl

Grandpa came to visit today along with Aunt Helen and Aunt Faith. Grandpa and Aunt Helen were trying to teach Leo how to crawl. I think Leo was mesmerized by the silly movements grownups make. That, or perhaps it was Aunt Helen's glasses...

Sleepytime

Daddy took Leo for a walk and Leo ended up getting his afternoon nap.

Seven Months Old

Our little sweet potato likes sweet potatoes. Score one for vegetables.

No More Bouncer

Our usual routine in the morning is: Leo wakes up, Mommy feeds him, puts him in the bouncer, and then she gets herself a bowl of cereal to eat. Today, Mommy was sitting eating her cereal and Leo manages to scoot himself off the bouncer and onto the floor. Looks like we're going to have to come up with a new routine (or, at least use the safety straps on the bouncer).

Longhorn Fan

Leo was ecstatic to hear that Uncle Justin is going to UT in the fall. Congratulations, Justin! Leo still hasn't mastered the longhorn hand salute. It's only a matter of time...Go Longhorns!

An Afternoon Stroll(er)

Mommy took Leo for a walk this afternoon. Leo had plenty of sunblock and his hat on to protect him from the sun.

Laundry Day

Leo was helping Daddy fold the laundry.

The Giant People

Mommy and Daddy's friend, Mike, came to visit. Leo and Mike got along quite well. Leo especially liked that Mike was so tall (Leo doesn't see very many tall people in his family (sorry, Daddy)).

Bedtime Behind Bars

Leo is now able to turn himself over onto his stomach. He doesn't enjoy it all that much, but luckily, he knows how to turn himself over onto his back again. Sometimes, though, those pesky crib bars get in the way.

Me and My Arrow

The Godfather (aka Uncle Justin, aka Snake-Charmer) sent Leo a well known classic CD: Nilsson's "The Point!". Leo had a moment of confusion where he thought he was supposed to eat the CD instead of listen to it. (Never give Leo gifts before he eats). Leo's already gone to sleep listening to this album. I think we have a winner. Thanks, Uncle Justin!

Let Sleeping Babies Lie

Leo manages to turn himself around at night so that when we go into his room in the mornings, he's usually found sideways in his crib. I'm surprised his head against the crib bars doesn't wake him up. That's okay, Mommy ended up waking him up soon after this picture was taken. You can't sleep the mornings away, Leo! Wow, that'll be something I say when he's older... scary.

More Bananas, Please!!!

"Yo, lady. I'm a growing boy. I need more bananas!" Mommy was lacking in her motherly duties and had to make a second bowl of bananas for our hungry Leo.

Little Rascal

We've got our very own Alfalfa. Leo's curls are starting to kick in (both Mommy and Daddy have curly hair). Mommy brushed Leo's hair after his bath last night and this aflalfa sprout refused to stay down. It was still sticking up this morning! In this picture, Leo and Mommy were giggling about it.

Friday the 13th

These are what we call "screw on hands". Leo's got enough fat around his wrists and ankles, that it looks like the hands and feet are screwed on.

6 Month Pediatrician Visit

Today, Mommy took Leo to the pediatrician's office. He weighs 15 pounds and 12 ounces and is 27 1/4 inches long. He gained 3 pounds and grew 3 more inches since his last doctor's visit. Our boy is growing! He also got 3 shots. They always save the best for last, don't they? This picture was taken before the shots, of course.

Leo's surrounded by toys galore and he'd rather play with the pacifier holder. What can you do?

Waking Up From A Nap

Leo had just woken up from a nap and was kicking back and chilling in his crib. He's a little more vocal when the camera isn't on him. I swear. This kid is going to be in movies because he won't take his eyes of the camera when it's around.

LeeeeeeeO

In this picture, I can almost see what Leo will look like when he's older. His features (and personality) are becoming much more defined. I may be biased, but this has got to be the cutest and greatest baby around!

Floor Cuddling

Leo woke up early and got Oma and Daddy to cuddle with him on the floor (and without any coffee in their systems!). It's funny what adults will do when there's a baby around.

Oma and PaPa

Oma and PaPa came to visit for the weekend. Leo is right at home in Oma's arms as is Oma in Leo's arms.

Cell Phone Posing

Daddy was taking pictures of him and Leo with his cellphone camera. If you look closely, you can see a line of drool coming out of Leo's mouth all the way to the table. Perhaps, the next lesson should be how to hock a loogie.

Mommy almost forgot to take a picture of Leo today. She got a shot just as he was put down to bed. I don't think Leo appreciated the flash.

22 Pounds!!

We weighed Leo today and he now weighs a whopping 22 pounds! He gained 8 pounds in one month! He's so heavy now that Daddy needs to lay Leo on his knees: Leo's gotten too heavy to carry around in our arms all the time.
